Policy

As the national industry body for private capital in Australia, we believe it is critically important that governments implement policies to encourage deeper investment into innovative and high-growth potential Australian businesses to support their domestic and international expansion ambitions.

We actively participate in discussions with government ministers and their agencies, as well as regulators, on a wide range of issues impacting the growth of private capital investment within our economy. Short and medium-term priorities in key policy areas of: foreign investment, superannuation, taxation, modernising Australia's investment regimes, innovation, and attracting global talent, inform our work program with government on a day-to-day basis. In the lead-up to every federal election, the Australian Investment Council publishes a policy priorities statement to support the work of the new incoming government in identifying the most important reforms to support the growth of private capital investment across all sectors of the national economy.
