Zarmeen Pavri
Partner & Chief Impact Officer, SDG and Senior Adviser, Global Impact Investing Network
Zarmeen Pavri is a Partner and Chief Impact Officer of SDGx – a technology
focussed VC investment management and impact advisory firm, headquartered
Singapore with offices in Sydney, Berlin and Bangkok. SDGx Ventures manages
a climate technology VC fund across Australia, Asia and Europe, investing
in deep tech companies accelerating the transition to a zero-carbon
economy. Zarmeen also currently is the Oceania Regional representative for
the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) playing the “market builder’
role driving educational programs on leading best practices within the
impact investing industry to the institutional investor market,
specifically for Pension funds and Foundations. She serves on a variety of
fiduciary and non-fiduciary boards including being a Non-Executive Director
of U Ethical Investors Ltd ($1.5B ethical, ESG Fund manager), is a member
of the Investment Committee and Chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance
Committee of U Ethical; Chair of the Ethical and Impact committee for the
$100m Apostle Funds Management- People and Planet Fund and sits on various
start-up advisory committees.
Zarmeen is an established investment management executive with a
multi-dimensional background, spanning across 26years experience within the
areas of ethical and impact investing, venture capital, hedge funds
management, product development and commercialisation. In her prior roles,
she has held several senior executive leadership positions at AECOM
International Development, Pengana Capital and MIR Investment Management,
playing the various roles including Fund Manager, COO, Head of Product
Development, Head of Offshore institutional business, and Executive
Director of Strategy Implementation. She further brings a unique
international development perspective gained from her experience when she
was the Fund Manager, overseeing the Department of Foreign Affairs and
Trade’s (DFAT) $20m Impact Innovation Accelerator Fund, which supported the
start-up ecosystem in SE Asia, using a gender lens investing approach and
was DFAT’s senior technical impact investing advisor for various global
programs and initiatives.
She is an active mentor to emerging female leaders, is a Climate JEDI
advocate and is a public speaker at numerous conferences and investor
events. She is a qualified Australian Chartered Accountant and has a
Bachelor of Commerce (sub major Law) degree from University of Western
Sydney and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
