Will Mateu

Member Experience Manager, Australian Investment Council

Will Mateu joined the Australian Investment Council in 2020 and is responsible for the membership experience across business development, member engagement, and ESG awareness. Since his time at the Australian Investment Council (AIC) and with the support of his mentor ex-board member Steven Okun from KKR, Will successfully launched AIC’s first ESG Policy Framework for GPs, ESG workshops for GPs, the Green House Gas Emission (GHG) survey, GHG workshop, and the GHG media campaign.

Will has over 25 years’ experience in financial services, is multi-lingual, and has a multi-dimensional background that covers investments, equities and corporate bond trading; having held senior leadership positions in business development, product management, and marketing of fixed income analytic services. He also has extensive experience in international markets across Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and the USA.

Will has a unique blend of leadership and business skills gained in corporate and financial institution settings and sits on the advisory committee of a start-up educational technology company. He was also a founding member of the Hispanic Leadership Project which developed and mentored senior year high school students of Hispanic and Latino descent into future leaders. The program started in the early 1980s at Cardinal Hayes High School, Bronx New York and is still going strong today.

Will holds a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences in Psychology from Syracuse University and is currently undertaking graduate studies in Professional Psychology at University of New England.
