The Founder and CEO of APAC Advisors, Steven Okun is a leader on corporate public affairs, sustainability and stakeholder engagement in Asia Pacific.

APAC Advisors empowers clients, ranging from global corporations and financial service firms to social enterprises and NGOs, to operate at the intersection of business, government, media and civil society.

The firm’s services include a full range of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) support, from partnering with firms on their policies and processes to implementation and reporting, as well as providing guidance to their portfolio companies.

Steven also serves as the ASEAN Representative for EMPEA (formerly the

Emerging Markets Private Equity Association) and is a member of their global ESG community.

As KKR’s first Director of Asia Public Affairs from 2011-2017, his responsibilities encompassed government affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability.

He served for three years on governing board of the Australian Investment Council (then Australian Venture Capital Association Ltd).

Residing in Singapore since 2003, he received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
